Can FC Porto go all the way in the UEFA Champions League?

FC Porto reached the quarter-finals of the UEFA Champions League for the first time in four years with a dramatic 3-1 victory over AS Roma.

Goals from Francisco Soares and Moussa Marega forced the contest into extra-time before Alex Tellas’ penalty sealed a place in the last eight.

It breaks a run of two successive eliminations at the round of 16 stage to Liverpool and Juventus and will have FC Porto fans dreaming of repeating their heroics in 2004.

Porto went all the way under the guidance of José Mourinho, knocking out Manchester United, Olympique Lyonnais and Deportivo La Coruña before defeating AS Monaco in the final.

To repeat that heroics, FC Porto will look to their main goalscorers this season.

Soares has 10 goals in Primeira Liga this campaign with Marega finding the net 17 times in all competitions.

Marega has 41 goals 87 appearances for FC Porto, including a goal in the second leg against Roma.

Héctor Herrera and Yacine Brahimi have been rocks in the middle of the part for the Dragons.

Meanwhile UEFA Champions League winner Pepe has been rock solid since his return to the club in January.

Pepe left FC Porto in 2007 for Real Madrid where he became a legend, playing more than 200 matches and winning three Champions League medals.
